Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know about reviews, privacy, and how ResiScore works.
What is ResiScore?
ResiScore is a community-driven platform where renters share honest reviews of landlords and rental properties. Each property earns a clear reliability score based on real tenant experiences, so future renters know what to expect before signing a lease.
Are reviews anonymous?
Yes. Your name and personal identifiers are never shown publicly on property pages, in search results, or anywhere alongside your review.
Please note: although reviews are anonymous, we cannot guarantee that a landlord won't identify you based on specific details you choose to include in your review (for example, your exact unit, move-in dates, or a unique situation). Share what's helpful, and leave out details you'd rather keep private.
Can I edit my review after submitting?
Not at this time. Once a review is submitted it is published as-is. If something is inaccurate or you need a review removed or corrected, please reach out through our support channel and we'll help.
What happens if I see an inaccurate review?
Let us know. You can report a review you believe is inaccurate, misleading, or violates our guidelines, and our team will look into it under our Content & Moderation Policy. Reviews that are false, defamatory, or off-topic may be removed.
Can landlords see who left a review?
No. Landlords cannot see the identity of the person who left a review — reviewer names and accounts are never revealed to them. Keep in mind that highly specific details in your written review could make a review recognizable, so share thoughtfully.
What types of properties can I review?
Just about any rental home — houses, duplexes, condos, townhomes, and apartments — whether it's managed by a large company, a private landlord, or an individual homeowner. Covering those smaller, often-overlooked properties is a big part of why ResiScore exists.
Why do I need an account to submit a review?
An account helps us keep reviews authentic and reduce spam and abuse. It lets us confirm that a real person stands behind each review — which keeps scores trustworthy for everyone — while still keeping your identity private from the public and from landlords.
What is a ResiScore and how is it calculated?
A ResiScore is a single, easy-to-read rating out of 5 that summarizes a property's reviews. Each review rates seven categories — communication & responsiveness, maintenance & repairs, fairness & professionalism, deposit & billing transparency, safety & security, condition & upkeep, and location & neighborhood. We average those categories within each review, then combine reviews to produce the overall ResiScore. More reviews make the score more reliable over time.
